Engineering Operative Level 2

The Engineering Operative Apprenticeship is designed to train individuals to become skilled operatives in various areas of engineering.

The apprenticeship covers a broad range of engineering disciplines, including electrical, maintenance and mechanical manufacturing. Apprentices will learn a variety of skills, including how to use tools and equipment, how to interpret technical drawings, how to diagnose and solve problems, and how to work safely in an engineering environment.

Pathways

We offer end point assessment (EPA) for the following four pathways for the Engineering Operative:

  • Maintenance role
  • Mechanical manufacturing engineering role
  • Electrical and electronic engineering role
  • Fabrication role

End Point Assessment

Your apprentices will be assessed by EUIAS assessors, and EUIAS will confirm whether the apprentice has achieved the standard or not (awarding a fail, pass or distinction).

The end point assessment consists of two elements:

  • Practical skills observation
  • Professional discussion

Typically, the apprenticeship takes between 12-18 months, and an additional 3 months for the end point assessment (EPA) duration.
