New arrangements for scanning knowledge tests

Over the coming months you will observe changes to the format of multiple-choice knowledge assessments. The questions themselves will remain the same, but instead of apprentices completing by putting a cross next to the correct answer, we will be supplying separate Answer Sheets which are completed by using a pencil to shade in their responses. The Exam Answer Sheets will be returned to the EUIAS office and they will be fed into an optical mark reader that scans and marks the Answer Sheets automatically. This system removes the need for manual marking and is extremely accurate and fast. It also enables the results to be analysed statistically to confirm the performance of individual questions and test papers as a whole.
